Do you have experience volunteering at a local youth group or a passion for helping others? If so, we want to hear from you.

We are currently seeking a confident individual who can oversee students when the teacher is absent or requires assistance. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to new environments and comfortable in a classroom setting. This full-time role offers a great opportunity to gain experience in a school.

Protocol Education is working with secondary schools in Newcastle, North Tyneside, and Northumberland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Manage student behaviour
  • Support student learning
  • Create a positive and productive learning environment
  • Interact with students and staff
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Existing or willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check
  • A confident and approachable demeanour
  • Adaptability and flexibility in new environments
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Previous personal or professional experience working with children with SEMH or SEND is preferred

Prior teaching experience is desired but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
