Welfare Officer

The Role :

  • Provide emergency first aid, medical support for students, and oversee the medical room, communicating with staff, parents/carers, and ambulance services as needed.
  • Track, monitor, evaluate accidents and illnesses, ensuring accurate and up-to-date reporting.
  • Maintain current welfare practices, student healthcare plans, and training.
  • Ensure that medical supplies are well-stocked and up-to-date.
  • Provide administrative support for staff and reception as necessary.
  • Attend to students brought to the medical room appropriately.
  • Efficiently log accidents and illnesses.
  • Assist with the completion of Health Care plans.
  • Assist in completing medical lists for Educational Visits.
  • Follow first aid procedures, risk assessment, and record-keeping protocols.
  • Assist in ensuring processed permissions for medical issues/conditions.
  • Communicate medical issues to relevant staff, agencies, parents/carers.
  • Support staff at either school site with medical issues.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with procedures for medicines/epipens, etc.
  • Assist in stock-taking and ordering.
  • Help develop systems for student welfare.
  • Manage and liaise with the school immunization service to ensure smooth immunization administration.
  • Be vigilant regarding safeguarding issues and report them according to school procedures.
  • Undergo regular training and self-assess training needs.
  • Liaise with job share colleague to maintain effective information exchange and up-to-date records.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
