Salary: £77 - £95 per day

About the School:

Our partner school specializes in providing day places to young people with autism aged 11-19. Many of these students have experienced negative school experiences due to their diagnosis, including school refusal or multiple exclusions, leading to a poor quality of life for both the young person and their family. With a commitment to providing a structured educational environment, the school focuses on creating independence, confidence, and functional skills development. Their approach aims to equip students with the tools needed to navigate everyday life, both during their school years and in future employment opportunities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with autism in classroom settings.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized support plans tailored to each student's requirements.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour management and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Support students in developing strategies to better manage their behaviour, emotions, and mental health.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with autism is desirable.
  • Resilience and mental strength to work with the challenging behaviour encountered in the school is a must
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting the well-being and development of all students.
