Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

We're delighted to present an exciting chance for a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant specialising in Special Educational Needs. This enriching role entails providing one-on-one support to a Key Stage 3 child with autism. The young child is incredibly bright, passionate about sports and needs a positive role model to help them build the skills so that they can reach their potential.
You do not need to have a background in education to apply, we are looking for passionate individuals who want to make a real and positive difference in the lives of young people.
About The School:
This school caters to pupils aged 11-16 with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) where Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) is their primary need. Their values and ethos revolve around a comprehensive whole-child approach, valuing all aspects of learning both in and out of the classroom. As an Attachment Aware school, they prioritise building positive relationships to create a secure base for our pupils. This school has a dedicated and passionate team who truly care about the needs of each child.
The Role:
This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on a young boy's life during his formative and crucial years. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the student's educational journey, building a lasting friendship, and helping him develop the skills necessary for life beyond school.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to the Year 9 boy in class, helping him navigate the curriculum.
- Be adaptable to situations where traditional classroom settings may not be achievable.
- Build a strong friendship with the young boy, acting as a positive role model.
- Support and prepare him for life after school.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Calm and relaxed demean or with the ability to adapt to various situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with the student and others.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH as their primary need.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
