Job Duties:

The Teaching Assistant will support the classroom teacher in the delivery of educational programmes. Duties include providing assistance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, managing challenging behaviour, and helping to create a positive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification desriable

Education:

Educated to at least GCSE level in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience working with students with SEMH and challenging behaviour is desirable

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

The Teaching Assistant will work in a school setting, assisting in classrooms and supporting students with various needs. The role may involve some physical activity and the ability to adapt to different learning environments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
