Job Duties:

  • Supporting the classroom teacher in delivering educational activities
  • Assisting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in their learning
  • Helping to manage challenging behaviour and promoting positive social, emotional, and mental health development
  • Providing one-to-one support to students who require additional help
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEND and SEMH

Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting or private setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Ability to support students with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Training in managing challenging behaviour

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time hours
  • Contract-based employment
  • Work within an educational setting in Mitcham, Greater London
