ROLE: Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

We are seeking caring, empathetic individuals who are passionate about supporting children with learning difficulties to excel in their education.
Within this role you as a Teaching Assistant, you will support a range of students within a mainstream secondary school. At times you will be working with students with special educational needs, social emotional mental health and behavioural challenges.
You will work within full mainstream classes, small groups of students and 1-1.
Responsibilities:
- Providing emotional, social, and practical support to students with a range of social, emotional, learning, and behavioural needs
- Developing and implementing pastoral care plans for students
- Working with students in the SEN department and within mainstream lessons.
- Ensuring students are engaged in learning.
- Managing behaviour effectively.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with children and young people, ideally within an educational setting, however, other relevant experience is considered.
- Be confident working independently and as part of a wider team.
- Have the patience and confidence to de-escalate situations and manage challenging behaviour.
- Have knowledge of special educational needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
