Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with ADHD, SEND, SEMH, SpLD, and ASC in the classroom
  • Assisting the teacher with lesson planning and classroom management
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs
  • Helping students to develop their social and emotional skills
  • Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Education:

Relevant teaching assistant qualification desirable

Experience:

Experience working with students with special educational needs or in a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of ADHD, SEND, SEMH, SpLD, and ASC
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with students

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school environment
  • Potential for some physical activity (e.g., assisting students with mobility, school trips)
  • Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents
