Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching and learning process, and in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs and abilities of students, and promote their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance with their learning, and help them to overcome barriers to learning and make progress towards their learning goals.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials, resources, and activities, and contribute to the creation of a stimulating and interactive learning environment.
  • Support students with their personal and social development, and promote positive behavior and attitudes towards learning, through the implementation of effective behavior management strategies and the modeling of positive behaviors.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and communicate regularly and effectively with them to provide feedback on student progress, share concerns or issues, and celebrate achievements and successes.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping, assessment, and reporting, and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the school and its programs.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant or classroom support worker.
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development, and a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and take direction from the class teacher while also using initiative and demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring nature, with the ability to respond sensitively to the individual needs and circumstances of students.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students' learning and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
