Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive educational environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Individualised Student Support:

    • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs and disabilities.
    • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of individual students.
  2. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), teachers, and parents to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
    • Maintain open and effective communication with relevant stakeholders, including regular updates on student progress and challenges.
  3. Classroom Assistance:

    • Support the inclusion of students with special educational needs in mainstream classrooms, facilitating their participation in various activities.
    • Assist in the preparation and modification of learning resources to accommodate diverse learning needs.
  4. Behavioral and Emotional Support:

    • Provide emotional support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
    • Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to address any challenges that may arise.
  5. Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
    • Contribute to the preparation of reports and participate in relevant meetings to discuss student development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities is desirable.
  • A passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or a related field.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
