Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a classroom setting
  • Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans for students with SEND
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs, if required
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or willingness to work towards one

Education:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting

Experience:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEND
  • Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support them

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to SEND
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work within a school environment, assisting students with SEND
  • May involve physical tasks such as assisting with personal care or mobility

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
