Position: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in Kent. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to students with SEND in their academic and personal development.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities to meet the individual needs of students.
- Support students with classroom tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy activities.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their confidence and self-esteem.
- Help to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with the SEND Coordinator and other staff members to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SEND Coordinator.
- Assist with the organization of resources and materials for SEND interventions and activities.
- Support students during transitions between lessons and activities, providing reassurance and guidance as needed.
- Maintain a safe and secure learning environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential.
- A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
- A willingness to undergo relevant training and development opportunities.
