Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering individualised education plans
  • Providing one-on-one support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
  • Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborating with other staff members and parents to support student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Knowledge of SEND practises and strategies

Education:

Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience working with students with SEND is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working in a primary school setting

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a primary school setting, providing support to students with SEND. The working hours are full-time, and the environment may be challenging but rewarding.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
