We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in Sittingbourne. As an integral member of our school community, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEND, ensuring they have access to a quality education.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including academic lessons, group projects, and individualized learning tasks.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
  • Help students develop essential life skills and promote independence.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent, are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow professionally.
