Job Description:

The SEND Teaching Assistant will work in a school setting in South East England, specifically in Croydon, Surrey. The role involves providing support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the classroom.

Job Duties:

  • Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans for students with SEND
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require extra help
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students with their learning activities and social interactions
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in learning support, childcare, or social work
  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications in special education or related field
  • Experience working with children with specific learning difficulties

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular school hours
  • May require occasional participation in training or development sessions
  • Working closely with teachers, students, and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
