Job Duties:

  • Plan, deliver and assess lessons for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Implement individualised education plans to support student learning and development
  • Manage behaviour effectively in the classroom setting
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to create a supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

Education:

  • Degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a Special Educational Needs setting
  • Demonstrated success in supporting students with a range of learning and behavioural needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEND practises and strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective behaviour management techniques
  • Ability to develop and implement individualised education plans
  • Proficient in lesson planning and delivery

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in specific areas of SEND (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder)
  • Experience working with external agencies and professionals
