Job Duties:
- Plan, deliver and assess lessons for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Implement individualised education plans to support student learning and development
- Manage behaviour effectively in the classroom setting
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to create a supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
Education:
- Degree in Education or related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a Special Educational Needs setting
- Demonstrated success in supporting students with a range of learning and behavioural needs
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of SEND practises and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective behaviour management techniques
- Ability to develop and implement individualised education plans
- Proficient in lesson planning and delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training in specific areas of SEND (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- Experience working with external agencies and professionals
