Protocol Education are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced SEND Teacher to work with pupils in a mainstream Primary school in Hackney.

The children you are working with are predominantly in Reception or Year 1.

Experience of working with children with SEND in Early Years would therefore be very beneficial.

You will be responsible for managing a team of LSA's, implementing inclusive schemes of work and making sure individualised care plans are being followed for all children.

For the right candidate, there is the possibility this role could extend into the new academic year.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to primary school students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Complex Needs, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to parents and colleagues
  • Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEND
  • Understanding of SEN codes of practise and relevant legislation

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a mainstream or special educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of differentiating instruction for students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Training in Makaton or other communication systems

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
