One of my mainstream Primary schools in the Pudsey area is looking to appoint a SEND specialist to work alongside a pupil in Year 2 with Autism (ASC)

The school are looking for an experienced candidate who has previously worked 1:1 with pupils with additional needs, particularly non verbal ASC as the pupil has limited communication. 

The role is to run until at least Christmas, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team available following a successful initial placement. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

- Assist the class teacher in organising a suitable classroom environment and appropriate resources.

- To feedback to the school SENCO regarding the student’s progress and any difficulties faced.

- To provide information to support SEND review meetings and support plans.

- To have a passion for working with SEND.

- To have a calm and patient approach in the classroom.

- To promote independence in the students learning.

- To have relevant experience working with Autism and SPeech & Language.
