Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant

Position Overview: Embark on a fulfilling journey as a SEND Learning Support Assistant, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), and diverse learning needs. Your pivotal role involves crafting an inclusive educational environment, offering tailored support to ensure the success and well-being of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Individualised Support:

    • Customize assistance to address the unique challenges of students with ASD, SEMH, and diverse needs.
    • Skillfully adapt learning resources to cater to varied learning styles and abilities.
  2. Inclusive Classroom Support:

    • Collaborate seamlessly with teachers to establish inclusive classrooms.
    • Implement differentiated instruction strategies to address individualised learning requirements.
  3. Behavioral Support:

    • Apply effective behavior management techniques, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
    • Contribute to the implementation of comprehensive behavior support plans.
  4. Progress Monitoring:

    • Diligently track and monitor the academic and social progress of students, providing insightful feedback to teachers and parents.
    • Play a vital role in the ongoing assessment and adjustment of support strategies.
  5. Assessment Assistance:

    • Administer and modify assessments, ensuring fairness and accuracy.
    • Actively contribute to the collaborative development and refinement of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  6. Communication and Collaboration:

    • Establish open lines of communication with parents, teachers, and relevant stakeholders.
    • Collaborate seamlessly with external professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to implement recommended interventions.
  7. Training and Professional Development:

    • Stay abreast of the latest developments in SEND education through active participation in relevant training sessions.
    • Engage in continuous professional development, enhancing your skills and knowledge to provide top-notch support.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in a similar role is desireable.
  • Possession of a relevant qualification in Special Education is desirable
  • Proficiency in understanding and addressing ASD, SEMH, and various learning difficulties.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with patience and empathy.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
