Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 3.30 pm (flexible hours considered), Temp to Perm

Protocol Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an award-winning Secondary Specialist School catering for students aged 11 to 19. The school specializes in providing support for students with difficulties associated with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and/or Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) as their primary diagnosis. The role will involve working with students exhibiting behavioural difficulties and may include speech language and communication needs in the context of social communication.

Key Responsibilities:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with teachers to support the learning needs of a small group of students.
  • Assisting in designated curriculum areas and other requested areas to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Providing support to pupils with communication and interaction difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and other challenges affecting their learning and confidence.
  • Addressing individual needs related to language comprehension, writing, organization, and other difficulties impacting learning.
  • Adapting to the varying range of abilities and complexities presented by students across different areas of the curriculum.
  • Offering support to pupils with medical conditions or physical limitations.
