Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Protocol Education is seeking nurturing individuals to join our team on a supply basis, providing one-to-one support for SEN children in primary schools across Colchester and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant working through Protocol Education, you will play a vital role in supporting the individual learning and development of children with SEN. You will work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored strategies and interventions, providing personalized support to enable each child to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for SEN children, adapting activities and resources to meet their specific needs.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure continuity of support.
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a classroom or support setting.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and adapt support strategies as needed.
  • Understanding of different SEN conditions and knowledge of relevant support techniques and resources.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school environments and support a variety of SEN needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
