SEN Teaching Assistant
Protocol Education are currently looking for inspirational Teaching Assistants to work in our partner schools in Hackney.
These roles are due to start in September 2024 and will run for the whole academic year.
We are looking for TA's with a real passion for making a difference every day. Experience working with children in a similar position is vital for this position.
We are happy to consider applications from those with childcare experience outside of a school enviroment.
As part of your role, you will be working with children with SEND including ASD and ADHD. Experience working with SEN is therefore vital.
Job Duties:
- Supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering individualised education plans
- Providing one-on-one support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
- Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborating with other staff members and parents to support student progress
Required Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Knowledge of SEND practises and strategies
Education:
Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Experience:
Prior experience working with students with SEND is preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of different learning styles and abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience working in a primary school setting
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in a primary school setting, providing support to students with SEND. The working hours are full-time, and the environment may be challenging but rewarding.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
