Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the City of London. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement required to excel academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN), assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to implement personalized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
  • Assist students in developing essential skills, including communication, social interaction, and independent living skills, promoting their overall well-being and independence.
  • Support students during transitions between activities and settings, providing guidance and encouragement as they navigate their educational experiences.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs, coupled with patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the diverse needs of students, including those with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
  • A commitment to upholding safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
