Role Overview:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in providing crucial support to non-verbal children, ensuring they receive tailored assistance to flourish academically and socially. This full-time position offers a fulfilling chance to significantly influence the lives of these remarkable children.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized support to non-verbal children, aiding them in communication and understanding.

Assist non-verbal children using Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Makaton.

Collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to implement personalized learning plans.

Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child feels supported and valued.

Employ innovative and engaging teaching strategies to foster learning and growth.

Monitor and assess progress, providing feedback to the school's multidisciplinary team as required.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with SEN children is advantageous, although not mandatory.

Background in caregiving or psychology would be beneficial.

Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor.

Flexibility, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
