Exciting Opportunity for Teaching Assistants - Specialist Autism School in Dartford!

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant seeking a fulfilling and rewarding role? Do you have a background in supporting children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or challenging behavior? If so, Protocol Education has the perfect opportunity for you.

We are currently recruiting for a Specialist Autism School in Dartford that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position. The school is focused on providing support to children with ASD and other associated challenges, including communication, interaction, social, imagination, sensory, and learning difficulties. Given the nature of the environment, confidence and experience in dealing with challenging behavior are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their social and emotional engagement with learning, fostering independence.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote the inclusion of all students within the school community.
  • Assist class teachers in creating a supportive and relaxed working environment.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of communication, attachment theory, and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs in the classroom.
  • Experience or transferable skills relevant to supporting students with ASD.
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
  • Satisfactory references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
