We are currently recruiting an exceptional and inspirational teacher to join the school in April 2024, providing outstanding education to our children. The ideal candidate will have a dynamic approach, ensuring learning is enjoyable and accessible for all.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to undertake one
- Minimum of 2 satisfactory and recent references
Role Details:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday
- Working with a class of 6-8 students per class
- Following individualized learning plans and planning tailored lessons
- Implementing school policies on learning and behavior, and statutory guidelines relating to special education needs
- Motivating pupils to learn and socialize
- Promoting independence by assisting with personal, physical, or medical needs
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans for students with complex autism and high sensory needs
- Assessing student progress and modifying teaching strategies as needed
- Collaborating with families and other school staff to create a supportive learning environment
- Providing direct instruction, support, and guidance to students, individually and in groups
Ideal Candidate:
- Genuine interest in working with SEN children and willingness to assist with personal care
- Previous experience working with students with complex autism and high sensory needs
- Experience dealing with non-verbal students and supporting sensory-seeking behaviors
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for students with complex autism and high sensory needs
- Ability to handle situations and behavior calmly and sensitively
- Passion for shaping young children's education and adapting to their individual circumstances
- Commitment, flexibility, and ability to provide short, sharp tuition and brain breaks as needed
- Genuine passion for SEND and/or SEMH
