Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to reinforce learning materials
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural issues to help them integrate into the classroom

Required Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with students with SEN
  • Basic understanding of SEN support strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Mental Health First Aid training

Working Conditions:

This role involves working within a school environment, supporting students with SEN during school hours. The candidate may need to assist with personal care and physical activities as required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
