Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Barnet Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, assisting them in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Implement individualized support plans, tailored to the unique needs and abilities of each student.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Utilize creative and engaging strategies to support student engagement and achievement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Passion for supporting the educational and holistic development of young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Team Teach, SEN training).
