We have an alternative provision in South Bristol looking for a qualified teacher with experience in planning and delivering a project-based curriculum to join their team on temp to perm basis.

Start: ASAP

Monday- Friday TTO 8.00-16.00

 

Ideal Candidate:

-          You will have experience of working with young people with complex social, emotional, mental health (SEMH)

-          Be creative in altering the curriculum with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Planning and delivering practical activities to support their learning, differentiating the work for those less able.

-          Experience of attending annual reviews.

-          Demonstrate sufficient knowledge in both Maths and English and plan engaging lessons to impart this knowledge to students discreetly, through practical, project-based learning.

 

Your Role:

-          You will design and deliver creative, practical, and progressive curriculum that is tailored towards individual IEP targets and preparation for adulthood.

-          You will create Individual learning plans (IEPS) for each pupil.

-          Reflect on the effectiveness of lessons and approaches to teaching and be committed to continued professional development.

-          Set high expectations which inspire and motivate students.

-          Create high quality, creative, practical, and innovative lessons to motivate and inspire students who are at risk of becoming disengaged with education.

-          Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils.

-          Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

 

The Provision:

-          Support children from KS2-Post 16

-          Offer a supportive environment using a trauma informed approach to enable young people to re-engage with a classroom setting through bespoke and small group lessons and activities, focusing on activity-based learning that provides an achievable platform to show progress.

-          Alongside their learning package, they offer a varied range of activities that include; Fishing, Boxing, Strength and Conditioning, Teambuilding, Football, Dance, Cookery and Life Skills, Educational Trips and Visits, Gardening, and Bowling. Their main area focus is around SEMH and building positive relationships with adults and peers. We firmly believe that if young people have a sound base in this area, learning and achievement follows.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
