Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of children and young people with SEMH. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs in classroom settings.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized support plans tailored to each student's requirements.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour management and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Support students in developing strategies to better manage their behaviour, emotions, and mental health.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with complex needs.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning and managing challenging behaviours.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous.
