Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons at the secondary level
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies in the classroom
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Masters in Education or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field

Experience:

Prior experience teaching science at the secondary level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to teach science effectively
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications or training in science education
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Working Conditions:

The role involves working full-time hours on a temporary basis in a secondary school setting. The candidate must be prepared to handle classroom and behaviour management challenges while delivering high-quality science education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
