Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging science lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through various assessment methods
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience
  • Provide feedback to students, parents, and school management on student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Science or related field
  • Experience teaching science at the secondary school level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of the national curriculum for science
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong classroom management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE)
  • Experience using technology in the classroom

Working Conditions:

The Science Teacher role is based in a secondary school in North East England, County Durham, Darlington. The working hours are full-time during term time. The role may involve some extracurricular activities and parent meetings outside of regular hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
