Role: SATS Teaching Assistant

Start Date: May 2024

We are currently working with some amazing mainstream primary schools. They are looking for vibrant and experienced KS2 Primary Assistants who are committed to making a difference in children’s lives.You will be adedicated individual to provide intervention and booster sessions to small groups of Year 6 pupils, with a focus on numeracy and literacy to prepare them for their SATs assessments.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support focusing on numeracy and literacy.
  • Prepare children for SATs assessments through targeted intervention and booster sessions.
  • Work with groups of 4-6 pupils at a time, building on prior knowledge and filling gaps in learning.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver planned sessions for both lower and higher attaining pupils.
  • Monitor and record pupils’ progress, adapting strategies to meet their individual needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in KS2 and exam preparation/intervention is essential.
  • Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs requirements.
  • Ability to engage and motivate pupils, particularly in preparation for exams.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
