Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain valuable experience in schools? Protocol Education is currently seeking Psychology graduates to work as Learning Support Assistants in the South Tyneside area. This role offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a classroom environment and support the educational development of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It also provides a chance to gain practical insights into a career in education.

The role of a Learning Support Assistant involves working in classroom settings, providing one-to-one or small group support to students. We are looking for empathetic individuals who are passionate about supporting the educational journeys of SEND children. In addition to this, your role will also involve managing behaviour to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all.

Requirements:

  • Valid DBS check and right to work in the UK.
  • Interest in working with children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Patience, trust, and a calm approach.
  • Preferable: Previous experience working with children or individuals with SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students.
  • Assist with daily classroom tasks.
  • Manage behaviour to create a safe and productive learning environment.
