Protocol Education is currently searching for enthusiastic Psychology graduates to fill the position of Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant in South Tyneside and the surrounding areas.

Please be aware that this is a full-time role.

These roles offer invaluable experience within a SEN school environment, ideal for individuals contemplating future career paths in teaching or working with children and young people, such as Education Psychology courses or clinical courses. Prior experience is not necessary; all that is required is a dedication to making a positive impact in the classroom setting.

About the role:

  • Work closely with students on a one-to-one basis, offering additional support as required.
  • Assist in general classroom activities to enrich student learning.
  • Opportunities for advancement onto our Future Teachers Programme.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Possess effective communication skills to engage with staff and students, monitoring progress and contributing to a nurturing school atmosphere.
  • Remain composed and adept at managing challenging behaviours and situations.
  • Demonstrate transferable skills and a sincere interest in supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Exhibit patience and understanding towards the diverse needs and circumstances of all students.

Resilience is required, and teaching experience is desired but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
