Protocol Education is currently seeking enthusiastic Psychology graduates for the role of Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant in Sunderland and the surrounding areas.

Please note this is a full time role.

These roles provide invaluable experience in a SEN school setting, ideal for individuals considering future career paths in teaching or working with children and young people, such as Education Psychology courses or clinical courses. No prior experience is required, just a passion for making a difference in the classroom environment.

About the role:

Work closely with students on a 1:1 basis, providing additional support as needed.

Assist in general classroom activities to enhance student learning.

Opportunities for progression onto our Future Teachers Programme.

The ideal candidate must:

Possess effective communication skills to interact with staff and students, monitoring progress and contributing to a positive school environment.

Remain composed and capable of managing challenging behaviour and situations.

Demonstrate transferable skills and a genuine interest in supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Exhibit patience and understanding towards the diverse needs and circumstances of all students.

You will need to be resiliant and teaching experience is desired but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
