Psychology & Sports Graduates - North Bradford & surrounding areas

About the Role:

We are currently seeking passionate and driven individuals to join our team as Teaching Assistants, Tutors, and Support Workers for Pupil Referral Units, SEMH Schools, and alternative education settings across North Bradford and North Yorkshire. This role offers an excellent opportunity for Psychology and Sports graduates to gain valuable experience and kickstart their career in education.

Our positions are available for both long-term and short-term periods, with many leading to permanent positions. This serves as a perfect platform for individuals seeking a career in education, particularly those interested in pursuing teacher training or working with young people in a broader context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the education of young people who no longer attend a mainstream school
  • Work as part of a supportive team to create a positive learning environment
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored support programmes for students
  • Provide 1:1 tuition in English, Maths, or Science
  • Mentor and support students with additional learning needs

Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology or Sports
  • A genuine passion for working with young people to improve their outcomes
  • Experience in youth community work, whether voluntary or paid
  • A confident, outgoing personality with the ability to work independently
  • Prior experience in SEND, including SEMH, PMLD, Autism, or other additional learning needs
  • Previous experience as a residential support worker or care worker
  • Team Teach or other physical intervention training, or a willingness to undergo such training to enhance your prospects of progression
  • Hold a valid DBS certificate with a subscription to the update service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Provide two professional references from the last five years
  • Have a CV that covers the last 10 years of your work history
  • Be committed to safeguarding young people
