Job Description: We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Teacher Assistants for long-term bookings to join our team. As a Primary School Teacher Assistant with long-term bookings, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching and learning process, providing continuity of support for students over an extended period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum, providing support to individual students and small groups as directed.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs or additional learning needs, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet their individual needs and promote their engagement and progress.
  • Support the class teacher with classroom management and behavior management strategies, helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials, resources, and activities, and contribute to the creation of a stimulating and interactive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and communicate regularly and effectively with them to provide feedback on student progress, share concerns or issues, and celebrate achievements and successes.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping, assessment, and reporting, and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school leaders to contribute to the wider life of the school, including participating in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant or classroom support worker.
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development, and a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and take direction from the class teacher while also using initiative and demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring nature, with the ability to respond sensitively to the individual needs and circumstances of students.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students' learning and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
