Job Duties:

  • Provide support to primary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Support students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the classroom
  • Work closely with teachers to support students in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Help create a positive learning environment for all students

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN support strategies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Childcare)

Experience:

  • Experience working in a primary school setting
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH and ADHD

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN best practises
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional SEN training or certification
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a classroom setting
  • Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents
  • Full-time hours with occasional flexibility required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
