Timings: 08:30 - 03:30

Mainstream Primary school in Lewisham is looking for a teaching assistant who can communicate using PECS & Makaton. This school is looking for a full-time teaching assistant to provide 1-1 learning with a child with ASD. This role starts in September 2023 for 1 full Academic year (Sep 2023 - July 2024).  The ideal candidate must have some experience working in a school setting. They should have experience working with children with learning disabilities, ASD and or sensory impairments. We are looking for someone who is patient, friendly and resilient. This suitable person should be able to create positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
•Working one to one or in groups with children who have autism to ensure that their educational needs are being met.
•Planning a program for this individual student so that they are developing at an efficient rate.
•Helping with the development of social skills and confidence alongside education.
•Where required, using all methods that are helpful for Autistic children, including sensory enrichment and through specialist practices such as Makaton/ PECS.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
