Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Physical Education curriculum
  • Assess students' physical abilities and monitor their progress
  • Organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities
  • Provide feedback to students, parents, and colleagues on students' performance
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment in all physical activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Physical Education or related field
  • Experience teaching Physical Education at the secondary level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Physical Education curriculum and assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage students in physical activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a specialisation in Physical Education
  • Experience coaching or participating in sports at a competitive level

Working Conditions:

The PE Teacher role involves working full-time hours in a school environment, interacting with students, parents, and colleagues. The position requires a high level of physical activity and may involve outdoor sports activities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
