Job Duties:

The PE Teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging physical education lessons to students. They will assess and evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and create a positive learning environment. The PE Teacher will also organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities, collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum content, and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Physical Education or related field
  • Experience working with children and young adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities

Education:

A degree in Physical Education or a relevant field is required. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Experience:

Previous experience working with children and young adults in an educational setting is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of physical education curriculum and teaching methodologies
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to participate in physical activities
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in relation to sports and physical education
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Good IT skills for lesson planning and student assessment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional coaching qualifications in sports
  • First Aid certification
  • Experience in organising school sports events

Working Conditions:

The PE Teacher will work full-time hours on a contract basis. They will primarily work within the school premises, both in classrooms and outdoor sports facilities. The role may involve occasional evening or weekend commitments for sports events or competitions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
