We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our forward-thinking team of Support Staff. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a named child in Nursery on a one-to-one basis. Your responsibilities will include providing tailored assistance to meet the specific needs of the child, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment, and promoting their overall development and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children with special educational needs, demonstrating confidence, flexibility, and empathy in their approach. While every day presents unique challenges and opportunities, you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.

Experience in working with children with SEN would be advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for a named child in Nursery.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate the individual needs of the child.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure the child's holistic development.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding the child's progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, patience, and empathy.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity.
