A primary school in Sandwell is looking to recruit a keen and passionate individual to join their Nursery team. The role is available for both experienced childcare practitioners and people who are relatively new to the childcare sector and excited to develop in this area.

If successful, the candidate will help children begin the most crucial part of their learning development and set them on the road to success. They will join a team of hard working and determined professionals in aiding the children in their learning, both socially and academically. The staff ensure that the children’s happiness is of paramount importance and endeavour to ensure that all the children reach their full potential in an encouraging, supportive and enjoyable environment.

On joining this school you will undertake duties working alongside the class teacher, and other responsibilities that may be more independent and need you to use initiative. The key values of this school are reflected in its staff and in it’s pupils. As it is a C of E school the core values that the school focuses on are love, trust, compassion and forgiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day-to-day activities for the nursery teacher
  • Distributing food to the children during snack time
  • Preparing work stations for the children’s day
  • 1:1 interventions
  • Leading key group activities

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A nurturing and approachable nature
  • Past experience (desired not required) in working with children in some professional capacity
  • A basic understanding of classroom and behaviour management
  • Determination to push children to their potential
  • Similar values to that of the school
