Nursery Manager to start ASAP!
37 hours per week (part time also considered) – fixed term from April 2024
Grade 10, Points 23-26
Full time salary: £33,060 - £36,660 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone who is passionate about early years’ education, to maintain and build on the nursery’s current success and to continue to develop our enthusiastic team. This is a fixed term post to cover for maternity leave.
You will be an experienced and dynamic team leader, with the ability to lead, inspire and support our committed team in line with EYFS and Ofsted requirements and our core values. A pro-active, hands on approach to the day to day running of the nursery is required where necessary, whilst assuming a strategic role. An extensive working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and legislative and statutory requirements are essential in order to ensure children have a safe, stimulating and enriching learning experience.
A minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification is required for this role, along with at least 2 years’ senior level experience in an Early Years setting. The Day Nursery is based in the Ibstock area and has been providing exceptional childcare and education for children from 6 months to 11 years of age for over twenty years, gaining a well-respected and trusted reputation within the community. The nursery became part of LiFE Multi Academy Trust since July 2021.
You will have experience of the EYFS framework and ensuring full compliance with all legislation, policies and strategies at a national, local and setting based level.
You will have experience of supervising nursery staff, ensuring that staff are properly deployed to offer appropriate stimulation and support to children.

Job purpose
To work within (but not limited to) the EYFS standards / framework, and other statutory requirements and codes of practice
To supervise and appraise nursery staff
To maintain, develop and quality assure the curriculum, outcomes and quality of provision
Main duties and responsibilities:
to lead the nursery
to provide strategic updates to the Headteacher
to ensure the development of all children attending the nursery
to ensure the delivery of a high quality EYFS curriculum in adherence with all statutory obligations and by working with a wide range of partners / external agencies
Ensure full compliance with all legislation, policies and strategies at a national, local and setting based level are promoted, implemented and embedded respectfully within practice
to analyse statistical information for monitoring purposes and report / present, as required, including to the governing body
to maintain timely, accurate and appropriate records regarding nursery staff and children
to manage the nursery budget, in conjunction with the Hub Finance Lead.
to ensure the children have a safe, stimulating and enriching learning environment, (including the upkeep and maintenance of the nursery)
to ensure that staff are properly deployed to offer appropriate stimulation and support to children
to promote the nursery provision in the wider community, including ensuring sustainability
to provide and facilitate appropriate training, induction, support and supervision for staff and children
to respond to future strategic priorities and initiatives relating to the college and the nursery
to develop, monitor and review the nursery’s policies and procedures in line with the college
to meet the local authority requirements in relation to quality assurance and FEEE.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
