Nursery Assistant

Protocol Education are currently working with a range of nurseries and Primary schools in Hackney who are looking for passionate Early Years Assistants to work with their youngest students.

You will play a vital role in their foundation years so the school are looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable and keen to make a difference.

These roles are both short-term and long-term depending on your availability.

Location:

Hackney

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in the nursery
  • Support the nursery staff in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities
  • Help maintain a safe and clean environment for the children
  • Engage with children in play and learning activities
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Valid DBS check
  • Basic First Aid certification

Education:

Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification

Experience:

Prior experience working with children in a nursery setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of child development principles
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Patience and empathy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Additional training in safeguarding children

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily indoors in a nursery setting
  • May involve some physical activity such as lifting and bending
  • Regular interaction with children, parents, and nursery staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
