Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our dynamic team. As a Music Teacher at the School, you will have the opportunity to inspire students and ignite their passion for music. You will be responsible for delivering engaging music lessons, facilitating performances, and fostering a love for music among our diverse student body.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver dynamic music lessons that cater to the varying abilities and interests of students.
  2. Teach fundamental music concepts, including music theory, notation, rhythm, melody, and harmony.
  3. Lead rehearsals for school bands, orchestras, choirs, and other musical ensembles, preparing students for performances and competitions.
  4. Organize and coordinate music events, concerts, recitals, and workshops, showcasing students' talents and achievements.
  5. Assess student progress through regular evaluations, assignments, and performances, providing constructive feedback to support growth and development.
  6. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to express themselves through music.
  7. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to promote music education and enrich the school's cultural and extracurricular activities.
  8. Stay informed about current trends, methodologies, and resources in music education, participating in professional development opportunities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in music education.
  • Prior experience teaching music at the primary or secondary level, preferably in a diverse urban setting.
  • Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments, with the ability to teach instrumental techniques and ensemble performance.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, history, composition, and pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for music education and a commitment to inspiring students from diverse backgrounds.
