Role Overview: As an MFL teacher, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for languages and culture with students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will deliver engaging and dynamic lessons that ignite curiosity, develop language skills, and promote intercultural understanding. Whether teaching French, Spanish, German, or another language, you will play a pivotal role in helping students develop their proficiency and confidence in their chosen language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality MFL lessons that are engaging, interactive, and differentiated to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated to participate, take risks, and explore new languages and cultures.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to enhance language learning and promote student engagement.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links and enrich the language learning experience through cultural activities, projects, and events.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, communicating effectively and working collaboratively to support student achievement and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching MFL at Key Stages 3, 4, and/or 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for languages and culture, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Innovative and creative approach to teaching, with a commitment to delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that cater to the diverse needs of learners.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community.
