Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Youth Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with students with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex learning disabilities, and those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP). Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualised support, helping each student develop self-esteem, achieve personal targets, and foster a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs
  • Utilise effective behaviour management techniques to create a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement personalised support plans
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with children with SEMH needs is preferred
  • Strong understanding of effective behaviour management techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the unique needs of each student
