Protocol Education are recruiting an individual who is an advocate for positive mental health and to be based in a school across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland. 

We are looking for a friendly, approachable individual with a passion for helping people with Special Educational Needs and disabilities. This role will be short term, but due to the demand in schools looking for SEND help, the opportunity to become long time is there.

The desirable candidate will have experience working in SEMH or SEND schools and believe students should have the same opportunities. It would help your application if you have studied a degree where an aspect included mental health and special educational needs. For example, Psychology, Clinical Background, health and social care.

Responsibilities:

-          Support SEND and SEMH students.

-          Interact with students, teachers and parents.

-          Manage behaviour and be a positive role model for students.

-          Aid personal and educational student development.

Suitable candidates will:

-          Have the right to work in the UK.

-          Have or would be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS.

-          Have good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

-          Be passionate advocators for mental health.

-          Have a good understanding of SEND and SEMH.

Teaching experience is desired but not always essential.
